payment and insurance reimbursement
The Affordable Care Act requires most health insurance companies to cover breastfeeding support.
Payment in full is due to Simply Fed Lactation, LLC at the time of the visit and an insurance reimbursement receipt/super bill will be provided following the consultation. Credit Card, Flexible Spending Account Card and cash payment are accepted. Personal checks are not accepted.
Most health insurance companies will reimburse for all or a portion of lactation home visits when you submit a receipt/super bill for the lactation services you have received. I will provide you with this documentation following our visit and you will be able to submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please call your insurance provider prior to our visit and ask about lactation support reimbursement.

The National Women's Law Center designed a toolkit for breastfeeding advocates to provide information on the coverage of breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling in the health care law and offer tools to women who encounter problems with this coverage. They have also provided detailed instructions on how to call insurance companies and how to file an appeal if the plan denies coverage. The toolkit includes draft appeal letters tailored to commonly encountered scenarios.
